Genuine Canon Video Lens
The name Canon is synonymous with optical excellence the world over. Brilliant optical quality is part of every Canon broadcast TV lens, 35mm film camera, digital camera and camcorder -- and the DC210 is no exception. It gives you clear, vibrant and brilliant video and digital photographs.
Canon's Image Stabilizer
The built-in, high-quality image stabilizer allows you to shoot professional-looking, rock-steady video -- whether you're recording sporting events, your child's birthday party, or a long focal length shot without a tripod. Your life never sits still, and the DC210 will help you capture it all.
Canon's Exclusive DIGIC DV II
Thanks to DIGIC DV ll image processing, the DC210 produces video with improved color reproduction -- especially in skin tones, and dark and light scenes. It also uses a hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction -- for images that are crystal clear.
Level and Grid Markers
Level, well-composed shots are simple with the Level and Grid Marker features. Line up the horizon or other horizontal lines with the Level Marker in the viewfinder for level landscapes. Or, use the Grid Marker to help compose the perfect shot. Both markers can be set to white or grey for enhanced visibility, no matter what the background.
Easy Operation
The DC210's Joystick lets you control your exposure under difficult lighting conditions -- you can meter on your subject and lock your exposure, or you can compensate by adjusting your exposure by up to 11 stops.
Quick Start
With Quick Start, you'll never miss a shot again. Simply push the Quick Start button, in between shots, to put your camcorder in stand-by mode. Push the Quick Start button again, and your camcorder powers up and begins to record in less than a second. When using Quick Start, you are considerably extending the life of your battery compared to that of regular recording mode.

| This camera is easy to use! It does everything as advertised. Just finalize the disk in the camera and it is ready to view on your TV. | |

| I'm not sure why one of the other reviewers has had such a problem with the VRO file format. There is no need for any additional software, at least not with Vista. After copying the VRO file to your hard disk, follow these instructions: 1: open Movie Maker 2: select import/videos 3: select ''all files'' (at the bottom of the browser window). 4: navigate to the folder where the video is stored, and it will be visible as a film clip. 5: select import, and you can edit it as any other clip. I'm not sure if this works with XP, but it probably does. I hope this helps, it really is as simple as importing any video clip. | |

| So far this item is very fashionable and lightweight product that gets the job done. It took me reading the manuel several times before I finally got the hang of it, but I got it. The only down fault I have is the fact that I can't view what I recorded on the actual tv until I finalized the disk. But I can still view it on the acutal camara which is not a problem. | |

| According to Canon, this is a point-shoot-play camcorder. Nothing else. Canon reps have stated that Canon WILL NOT provide any conversion software or support for VRO video output. The term VRO cannot even be found in their hard-copy or online documentation. Canon has obviously chosen to ignore rapidly increasing consumer interest in video editing. I give the DC210 a poor (vs abysmal) rating only because the it does do what Canon wanted it to do. Canon gets an 'F-minus' for not shelling out a few extra cents for each camcorder sold to ensure customers have conversion software, and subsequently the capability to easily edit their creations with inexpensive, easy-to-use movie/video editing software. | |
